Typical ranges on Rentify are £35–£50 a week for a power drill, £50–£80 for a bike and £40–£60 for a camping tent, while services like photography or personal training can earn £150–£400 a week. The first £1,000 you earn each tax year is usually covered by HMRC's trading allowance.

Renters pay by card when they book and all payments are processed securely through Stripe. Once the rental or service is completed, your full asking price is paid out directly to your bank account — the 10% service fee is paid by the renter at checkout, not deducted from your earnings.

You can set a refundable security deposit on any listing. Rentify holds it as a card authorisation through Stripe during the rental, and booking evidence photos are taken before and after each rental. If damage occurs you can raise a dispute and claim against the deposit; otherwise the hold is released automatically on safe return.

No. Most Rentify hosts are ordinary people renting out items they already own. In the UK, HMRC's trading allowance typically covers the first £1,000 of this kind of income each tax year — beyond that you may need to declare it on a tax return.

Yes. By default you review and approve each booking request, and you can message renters through the app before accepting. If you prefer, you can enable Instant Book to accept bookings automatically. Every user has a verified profile with reviews from previous rentals.
